I’m so excited to be traveling again! Being honest? It always comes with a side of mommy-guilt, but when I think about just how much time my husband and I get to spend with our kids, having worked hard and planned hard and been given a good measure of grace and favor with my business, plus a heavy dose of HUSTLE, I’ve been able to work from home while raising our kids and we know they’re the exceptions to the “rule”. Running a 50-60 hr/wk business while raising two kids hasn’t been the glamorous life I’m sure it seems like it should be (blog post on that later…) but someday I’ll get to sleep again and in the meantime, our kids have had more face-time (the real kind, not the Apple-provided kind, though that too) with their parents than nearly any kids or families we know. They’re lucky. We’re lucky (and sleep deprived). But it does make traveling complicated!
I’m headed out to the midwest TOMORROW to shoot 2 weddings with the amazing Amanda Megan Miller Photography (aka my Midwestie Bestie) and, hopefully, to capture a few couples/families/people with some Windy City portraits (if you’re interested in snagging a portrait session, let me know — special I’m-so-excited-so-lets-photograph-all-the-things rates apply! I’ll be there 7/22-7/28). This is my first time to Chicago (outside of O’Hare Airport on a layover on my honeymoon) so I’m so excited! I can’t wait for all the pretty, all the laughter, the amazing Chicago and surrounding area sites, and TWO guaranteed amazing weddings! I’m ready for a tall glass of Chicago (hold the humidity, please?).
